Apple jelly made to resemble a mug of frothy beer.

Ingredients

Clear apple juice – 500cc
Gelatin – 10g

How To Cook

Step 1: Warm the apple juice to room temperature.

Step 2: Place 3 tablespoons of room temperature apple juice into a microwaveable bowl. Add gelatin to the juice and leave for 30 seconds.

Step 3: Heat the mixture for 30 seconds to melt the gelatin.

Step 4: After the bowl has cooled to room temperature, add the remaining apple juice to the mixture.

Step 5: Cool the mixture with ice water, and stir continuously until it starts to harden. Remove the bowl from the ice water once the mixture has hardened somewhat, and use a mechanical whisk to whisk the mixture for 15-20 seconds.

Step 6: Pour the mixture into tall glasses. Pour quickly to create more froth for a more beer-like look.

Step 7: Whisk the remaining froth in the bowl and add it to the top of the glasses.

Step 8: Refrigerate for 1 hour and serve.

Points to note

* Make sure to work with room temperature apple juice for best results.

* Once the jelly starts to harden, remove immediately from ice water.

* Use the mechanical whisk for 20 seconds at most to avoid creating too much froth.
