Ingredients (Elegant Flower Weiners)
Weiner sausage – 6 pieces
Spagetti – 2~3 strands
How To Cook (Elegant Flower Weiners)
Step 1: Cut 4 of the sausages into half along the vertical axis. Make small cuts along the lengths of each half as shown, leaving 2~3mm of space beneath each cut. Cut the remaining 2 sausages into quarters along its length. Cut a shallow criss-cross pattern into the end of each quartered piece.
Step 2: Place the sausage pieces in a pot of boiling water until thoroughly cooked.
Step 3: Using each quartered piece of sausage as the flower’s center, wrap each long piece around it to create the petals. Secure the sausage ends together with uncooked spagetti as shown.
Ingredients (Dressed-up Cheese Chikuwa)
Chikuwa – 4 pieces
Cheese – Suitable amount
Lettuce leaf – 2~3 pieces
How To Cook (Dressed-up Cheese Chikuwa)
Step 1: Cut each chikuwa into 3 equal length pieces. Cut the cheese into cubes that fit into the hollow center of the chikuwa.
Step 2: Wrap each piece of cheese in a small piece of lettuce and stuff it into the center of the chikuwa.
Ingredients (Colorful Grilled Egg)
Egg – 4
Carrot – 20g
Spinach – 1~2 leaves
Soup stock – 2 tablespoons
Sugar – 1 tablespoon
Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
Sesame oil – 1/2 tablespoon
How To Cook (Colorful Grilled Egg)
Step 1: Dice the carrot into 5mm cubes and boil to cook. Slice the spinach leaves into 1cm strips and boil to cook.
Step 2: Break eggs into a bowl. Add carrots, spinach, soup stock, sugar and salt and beat well.
Step 3: Heat up the sesame oil in the rectangular egg grilling pan. Add 1/3 of the egg mixture to the pan and allow to cook. Once half cooked, roll the egg to one side of the pan as shown.
Step 4: Add the next 1/3 of the egg mixture to the pan and allow to cook. Once half cooked, roll the egg cooked in Step 3 back over the newly cooked section to create more layers in the roll. Finally, add the last portion of egg mixture and repeat.
Ingredients (Beautiful Bell Pepper Marinade)
Red bell pepper – 1
Yellow bell pepper – 1
Vinegar – 1 tablespoon
Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
Salt and pepper – to taste
How To Cook (Beautiful Bell Pepper Marinade)
Step 1: Slice the bell peppers open and remove the stem and seeds. Grill the peppers on an open barbeque for 8~10 minutes until the skin turns black.
Step 2: Place the grilled peppers into a bowl and wrap in cling film. Allow the peppers to cool down, then remove the charred skin and dice into bite-size pieces.
Step 3: Add vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper to the bell peppers and mix well. Refrigerate for 1 hour to finish the marinade.
Ingredients (Smiley Face Onigiri)
Smiley Face Onigiri
→ Rice – 2~3 bowls
→ Salt – to taste
→ Crabmeat stick – 2~3 sticks
→ Grilled seaweed – suitable amount
Red & White Onigiri
→ Rice – 2~3 bowls
→ Salmon flakes – 2 tablespoons
→ Dried plum or other fillings – suitable amount
→ Salt – to taste
How To Cook (Smiley Face Onigiri)
Step 1: To make smiley face onigiri, cut the seaweed into desired shapes.
Step 2: Add salt to rice and divide into 5 portions. Wrap each portion in cling film and knead into a flattened ball. Add seaweed parts onto each ball to create faces.
Step 3: Remove strips from the crabmeat stick and place onto the head of the smiley face to create a headband.
Step 4: To make red & white onigiri, divide the rice into 2 equal portions. Mix one portion with the salmon flakes, then further divide into 4~5 portions. Wrap each in cling film and roll into balls.
Step 5: Add salt to the remaining half portion of rice, and divide into 4~5 portions. Wrap each portion around your desired filling, then wrap in cling film and roll into balls.
Ingredients (Fried chicken)
Chicken thigh – 400g
Ginger – 1 piece
Garlic – 1 piece
Wine – 3 tablespoons
Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons
Sesame oil – 2 teaspoons
Egg – 1
Wheat flour – 2 tablespoons
Potato starch – 2 tablespoons
Frying oil – suitable amount
How To Cook (Fried chicken)
Step 1: Cut the chicken thigh into bite-size pieces. Place into a vinyl bag together with the ginger, garlic, wine, soy sauce and sesame oil. Mix well and leave to marinate overnight.
Step 2: Beat the egg and pour into the vinyl bag, then mix well. Add wheat flour and potato starch, then mix again.
Step 3: Heat the frying oil to 160~170degC. Fry the chicken pieces for a short while, then remove and cool for 2~3 minutes.
Step 4: Heat the oil to 180~190degC, then fry the chicken pieces for a second time until golden brown.
